Antique/Vintage Ring FAQ's

Q - What is antique/vintage anyway?

A - Antique/vintage items are between 20 -100+ years old. If you are expecting a vintage item to arrive in 'as new' condition, then vintage isn't for you, but if you love and appreciate craftsmanship from a bygone era, love the uniqueness & one-of-a-kind-ness that vintage items bring, then vintage is for you!

All of the antique/ vintage items I sell are between 20 -100+ years old so some general wear issues are expected, each ring is one of a kind.

My aim is to provide as accurate description of the item as clearly as I and my jeweller sees it, and any faults will be described. All of the rings are photographed in the natural light.

By purchasing the vintage item, the buyer accepts the piece in its vintage condition, please choose carefully and check your measurements/ring size carefully.

Q - Why should I choose a platinum ring

A - Platinum is one of the most durable & strongest metals for jewellery making, it is also the preferred metal for antique/vintage rings.

Platinum unlike yellow or white gold will never tarnish or lose its colour this is why most of the antique/vintage platinum rings are in such exquisite condition.
You will never need to rhodium plate platinum and your ring looks just as beautiful as it did then, now & in 100 years time making them the superior choice for a heirloom engagement ring.
Q - Do the rings you sell come with any type of documentation to support their authenticity etc?

A - All of the rings have been inspected, cleaned and tested for their authenticity. All of the rings over $1000 come with their own valuation report for your insurance purposes & peace of mind that you know what you are buying is exactly what you paid for, this will either be in the form of a GIA report, jeweller's valuation or EGL report, the type of report will be noted in each listing.

Q - Do you accept returns?

A - In the unlikely event that you aren't 100% happy with your purchase and wish to return your ring, you must contact me within 7 days of receiving it. The return shipping cost (with insurance) is to be covered by you & when I receive the ring in the same condition, the money for the ring will be returned less the return shipping & insurance costs.

The ring must be sent back to me in the original condition that it left my studio & suitably packed to avoid damage with no alterations or damage. I strive to ensure that the rings are described & photographed in the natural light and at as many different angles as possible to give you the best view of the ring without physically trying it on.

Q - Do you reserve rings?
A - No, unfortunately not at this stage, though we do offer payment plans.
Q - I have just purchased a ring & want to know when will it be shipped?
A - As soon as payment has cleared, your ring will be packed up & shipped within 2-3 days.
Q - How do you send the rings?

A - Domestic shipping is by Express Post with insurance, door to door tracking & signature on delivery. International shipping is by Express Courier International with insurance, door to door tracking & signature on delivery.

|| PLEASE NOTE! || Some countries do impose import charges, these are not covered in the cost of your ring & Annabelle Blackstone will not be made liable for any costs incurred for import/duty charges. It is your responsibility to check this prior to purchase, if you are unsure if your country does impose these fees, I can't stress enough that you please check prior to purchase.
Q - I love the ring, but it isn't the right size, do you offer resizing?
A - Yes, although each antique ring is different, resizing might not be possible if you are wanting to go up or down multiple sizes which can sometimes compromise the setting or diamonds. If you need the ring resized please contact me for a quote. Resizing takes 5-10 business days.
Q - Do you have a bricks and mortar shop that I can visit to try the rings on?
A - We are purely an online based jewellery store but because we are based online, this enables us to keep our costs low and therefore pass the savings onto you as we know how expensive diamond rings can be. Our rings are well below what you would pay in an antique jewellery store.
Please visit our 'Sold Gallery' tab to see the beautiful bespoke rings we have sold to many happy couples.
