Art Deco 18CT AND PLATINUM DIAMOND RING
A dazzling original Art Deco 18k platinum & palladium ring featuring a solitaire old round cut diamond set in a floral illusion style platinum mount.
This Art Deco ring features delicate metalwork with lovely platinum floral leaves accenting the old cut round main diamond.
The interesting fact about this ring is that it also contains Palladium. Palladium is harder than platinum and is even more valuable! As the World War II was raging, platinum supply was low due to the use of platinum in military resources, hence, palladium (a member of the platinum family) was incorporated into jewellery during this time. The use of palladium in this ring therefore dates it back to the 1930's - 1940's era. Perhaps this ring was an intended engagement ring during the war? A lovers promise to his beloved who was left behind longingly awaiting his return.
This Art Deco diamond ring is in amazing antique condition with the diamond securely set for future generations. This beautiful antique ring still has lots of vintage sparkle in her to be enjoyed for another 90 years and to be passed down as a family heirloom. The platinum mount is intricate, breathtaking and typical of the Art Deco era.
